it's been a YEAR now since i found out i was pregnant. i still remember that day, that moment, so clearly. every time i think about it i feel my heart speed up in the same happiness/anticipation/gratitude i felt that day. i can't believe the little jelly bean we saw on that ultrasound screen was our chunky joonerkins...we are insanely lucky people. i've learned so much in this past year--hours and hours of research on pregnancy, labor, delivery, breastfeeding, attachment parenting...it's been awesome. i love it. i'm not a baby person, but i am whole-heartedly a joony momma.
we blessed joons this last saturday evening! david gave him a simple, beautiful blessing in our little apartment and both of our dads were able to be here and in that circle, which meant the world to us. we've had a ton of fun having my parents here from thursday-saturday and david's dad here saturday-tuesday! we love showing our family around our little corner of idaho and watching them play with our baby.i'll update more later. i'd like to keep up with this blog, but i've also got like 3 journals i update regularly so this has kind of turned into an afterthought. woops. if there's anyone that still checks here, though, i'm going to try to do better! here's a joonsy photo dump to make up for my slacking:
mischievous little face! ooh i love to kiss his face 50 times a day. his baby acne cracks me up.
he's always got the right leg propped up on his car seat. he was breech in the womb with that same leg kicked up all crazy, and the very first time i nursed him he kicked it up on my collarbone like that, too. so i really really love it when that little leg of his sticks up...and i think the little fat roll on the top of his foot is to die for.
THOSE SUNGLASSES! hahaha he really does get so mad when the sun's in his eyes, though.
fingers in his mouth, as always. he's all squinty because i pushed his car seat shade back to take a picture.
cuddlebug thigh rolls.
